All About KOF XIII and one hairy guy. Shoryuken.com Interviews Giby
For those who have been following the progression of KOF XIII, the game has come a long way from it’s arcade roots down to the console port. It’s not only the game play and feature upgrades we’re talking about here, but moreso, the social aspect of how SNK Playmore is finally capturing audiences that is not solely SNK fans of old. Keits and skisonic from Shoruyken.com dig deep in this interview with Giby who has been involved with both the Capcom and SNK community for more than a decade. He is one of the few people that has had inside exposure to both companies on both a professional and community level, so it will be interesting to hear his perspective on what impact KOF XIII will have on the fighting game community.

Evolution 2011: Competitive Gaming Takes Over Vegas!
Another year, another Evo. As long as fighting games are being played, you know Evo is being held. This year was the largest Evo to date. Not only was there a fighting game tournament, but there were several games up for beta testing and many, many panels for the the fans to enjoy. It was like a mini convention.
This was the biggest venue I have seen the show take place in to date. There was one giant hall for the tournament, and several little rooms for the panels. There was something to do no matter what time of day it was. The only problem was how far the event room was from the hotel rooms. I heard a ton of people complaining about the walk, which imo wasn’t very far at all.
The show was being streamed practically the entire 72 hours, From 8am-near mid-night every night on the two main streams, followed by an after hours stream provided by iPlayWinner, which ran for most of the off hours. Three streams may sound like a lot, but it still wasn’t enough to capture the entire event. Read the rest of this entry »
