SNK confidently predicts big things for The Art of Fighting; street combat video may make Neo-Geo a "gotta have" item
Is it true American players love fighting-themed video games more than anything else? Do they love them more than driving games, more than rock 'n' roll, more than life itself?
In that case, millions of U.S. players may sell their souls for a chance to play SNK's hot new The Art of Fighting. Released Sept. 10 to an eager market, the title is another low-priced winner for the Neo-Geo system. It combines market-tested fighting themes and format, with unique new elements of advanced graphics and characterization. Look for The Art of Fighting to raise the Neo-Geo system to a "gotta have" level for operators. And, look for the game itself to take on all comers for a long reign atop the rating charts.
"Without a doubt, The Art of Fighting is the finest product we have ever brought to the market," Sales VP John Barone said proudly. "It's significantly stronger than our previous release, World Heroes, and that one was the first game in a year strong enough to knock the long-time number one title off the top of the charts."
