Over the past 60 days, I have been traveling the show and open house circuit. A topic that came up many times was that of SNK's published test reports on new NEO GEO titles. There was a concern that our tests did not represent the "Real World". I would like to take this space to help you understand SNK's testing procedure and how it works.

First and foremost is the fact that we at SNK give our test product a fair shot against the competition. I must admit that we do not place the test piece in an old 4-slot cabinet in the corner of a location. We do in fact place the test piece in a favorable position within a location along with the proper coinage in a single slot format. It is important to us to test our piece the same way other Manufacturers do, in quality cabinets that provide a quality presentation. This is the only fair way to get a true comparison of how our games rate against all of the others.

Also, when most of you purchase a new kit, you take the time and effort to do a quality conversion, this is something that many of you miss when changing a NEO GEO title. We do place our test game in "Real World" situations and they perform very well.

Please take the time on your end to ensure that you are doing everything possible to maximize your own profitability.
