nitely got new opportunities, new types of technology and new machines available today. The question is, will we make the best use of them? I think 10 years from now, we'll see a transformed location base with all kinds of places taking our equipment that never would have before. But," John cautioned, "it will be a type of equipment that cannot be duplicated in the home."

"Lots of the talk about a `shrinking industry' can be traced to stagnation in the types of products we've been offering," Tim added. "Players always want to know - what's new? But all too often, our industry insists the next machine must look like something old, something safe and familiar. Attractive, novelty vending can expand the business. SNK is also looking at possibly offering a selection of mild, non-violent video game products for other parts of the market which aren't

addressed by today's typical product. It's a visionary company that's taking the long view into the next century."

On the housekeeping front, SNK at presstime was negotiating to purchase 4.5 acres in San Jose, and construct two brand-new facilities, one for R&D (22,000 sq. ft.) and one for sales & mar

keting (25,000 sq. ft.). Move-in would be slated for January. John says he's looking to recruit some regional sales pros and may establish an entertainment vending division. Look for details on these new developments as they unfold. Contact SNK of America at 408/292-4550 for now.
