Over the years, video game manufacturers have found different ways to promote their products, from TV, magazine, on-line and other types of advertisements.
One effective and inexpensive method is that of selling demo discs at or some times even including them with your monthly gaming subscription, which tries to do one thing...make you want to buy the full version.
So in our second Volume of Did you know? we have a nice little surprise in one of the demo discs known as the Xbox Exhibition DVD.
For some of the bad rap Capcom has been getting over the years of not producing new fighters for their fans, consider this one a little gift to calm our tense senses: Inside this disc is a full working Japanese version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO (minus the Xbox Live support). The live support of the game is not selectable; however every other part of the game is (from color editing, to training mode). You get all the special features, such as vs matches, customizing characters, the full works.

If you do not have a live account, or connection, or just plainly want the game… then this would be a very low cost way to pick up the game. The Japanese version has very little Japanese text (which you'll see on some of the victory screens, but who needs to read when you're kicking butt in a vs. fighter or should we say, getting your butt kicked?) so you should have no trouble moving in and around the game.
Why Capcom chose to put a full version on this disc is probably due to cost. It's more cost effective to not have to go back and reprogram a sampler than to spend time making one. So for those cheapies out there you can pick up one of these new for $7.99, but chances are you'll find them used for around $3.99 or less at your local EB Games, Game Stops and Crazy Locations. Compare this to $39.99 when new or about $19.99 used. Still, one heck of a bargain.
This just goes to show that when IGN and some of the other gaming publishers out there who receive these discs don't really put time into studying it's true contents, but read the label on the outside. It's understandable as they have thousands of other games to review. Luckily for you readers, we're just hard core Capcom gamers that buy and play almost anything that has their name on it.
