  We think Pioneer wants to be the leader in the Audio market as it does the Video sector. This is a serious AV receiver  Pioneer's separate amp/pre-amp beasts for home theater usage. Also uses the Class D technology, but generally with separates, sound and picture quality is maximized as the internal interference is minimized  Yeah, this guy's a beast. Pre-amp portion, which is where the processing and audio/video switching occurs. Basically, the brains of the unit.
