Ever want to play a flashy puzzle game where the object is to blow up your slime clumps with Pnickies? Well now you can in...Pnickies
Overview
A Flashy puzzle for one player or two players head to head. This game is very similar to Puyo Puyo or Kirby's Avalance.
Graphics 8/10
The graphics are probably the best feature of this game. The artwork is very vibrant and very pretty, with a touch of japanese anime mixed in. That being said, there isn't much left to discribe the visuals in this game. Standard splitscreen view, a backdrop and some animated guy laughing in the middle sums it up.
Gameplay/Controls 6/10
The object of the game is to connect similar colored blobs and blow them up using two Pnickie blobs (Star symbol.) Controls are quite easy, just move around the blobs with the joystick and rotate them with the button. The problem with this game is that it's not really any fun. Even head to head this puzzle game seems mediocure at best. Perhaps it was a poor attempt to rival the wonderful Bust-a-Move series that was doing well at this time.
Sound/Music 6/10
Nothing special here, basic elevator music along with a few blips and beeps for effects. Defintely nothing catchy and rememberable like the themes of Tetris, Dr. Mario, Bust-A-Move.
Replay Value 4/10
This game isn't horribly bad, but it lacks the inovation and the addictive aspect that puzzle games need. It seems that capcom spent too much time working on the graphics and too less on gameplay.
Overall 6/10
This is your basic puzzle game, nothing real exciting. I advise playing only if you absoultely have a craving for a puzzler and nothing else is around.
