Overview
Back in 1991 capcom unleashed street fighter 2 on to the world and what was to follow was a legacy that has never ended, now in 2004 capcom has brought all of the street fighter 2 universe together for one game unspoilt just for pure old school kicks
Graphics 9/10
The graphics to this game are arcade perfect for each version of the characters and the background have remained untouched there still clean and crisp as they were back in the 90`s which is a good thing for fans of the original games and it can be a bad thing for people who have just gotten into street fighter due to the fact to them they will look dated and not as nice as they hoped
Gameplay/Controls 10/10
The gameplay to this game is as classic as it always was each version of who ever you pick plays like the respected game you chose all of there moves remain untouched which can be a advantage or downfall depending on who your up against due to the fact the street fighter 2 version of ryu`s shoryuken still eats through everything along with street fighter 2 turbo guiles`s flash kick. Arcade mode its basically super street fighter 2 turbo you face every one for that game even the code to fight akuma is in there (who is unlockable) but the lack of a save function will put people off getting him and just stick to the 2 player action that's the area the game truly shines its brightest just to see which is the better ryu or ken
The controls to this game are simplistic but hard at the same time it uses the 8 direction command to pull off moves and a 8 button system on top of that each button represents a different attack strength, jab, strong, fierce punch and short, forward, roundhouse kick its simple to start off with but if your wanting to master the special moves it can take some time learning the motions on the pad or arcade stick to get the right move off
Sound/Music 8/10
The sound to this game is simplistic but effective there is 3 different hit sounds depending on the strength of it and when ever a special move is pulled off the respective cahritor will shout some thing like hadoken for ryu`s fireball or spinning bird kick for chun li`s spinning bird kick
The music on this game comes 3 different forms the original CPS1 style the CPS2 style or remixed I prefer the remixed tracks to the original ones because it adds a little bit of new life into it not much but some and there is a sound test so you can listen to your fave tracks in each of the versions so you can make up your own mind
Replay Value 10/10
With 16 characters if your going for all the endings it will take you some time the endings are the super street fighter 2 turbo ones mind but as with all 2d fighters the real playing happens in 2 player you'll be spending hours with friends constantly challenging each other
Overall 9/10
This is old school to the max its perfect for fans of the original games or new fans wanting to discover the game roots there's something that every one will like
