Did you ever wonder that why do we always buy a Final Fantasy game whenever it comes out? It is because, after years of satisfaction we trust in the quality of this series.King of Fighters is no different.
Overview
For those who do not know King of Fighters 2002 is two player beat'em up which is one of the top 2d games available today.Since Snk's fall , there have been some problems with the series.But this time around Playmore and Eolith have pulled a few strings and brought us a King of Fighters like it was originally meant to be.The database of the game is the same as earlier parts of the series i.e three members per team and no strikers.Every Character has been toned a little to add diversity into gameplay.A new special Hidden Super Desperation Move has been added which gives the game a refreshment.
Graphics 8/10
The detailed 2d graphics are flawless.Absolutely perfect.They are better than Garou:Mark of the wolves,and that is saying something. The sprites are finely detailed.The artwork has not been very commendable in the past few games but it has improved greatly in this game,however the "Comments Screen" still needs improvement.The visual effects of the game are remarkable and the new HSDMs are a amusing display for even those on the recieving end.
Gameplay/Controls 9/10
The controls of the game are fairly easy to master, Veterans of the game would find the old controls to their liking while new bies would not face any problems either.The gameplay is fluent and strategical.It is not very offensive like KOF2k1.It is deep , filled with intriguing elements like Counters, Wire frames,Special moves ,DMs ,SDMs ,HSDMs ,Grapples ,Projectiles,Combos and much much more.But remember,playing this in a one player mode would not give you even the hint of the fun in playing the two player one.
Sound/Music 8/10
The soundtrack of the previous few games were not fun to listen and were downright boring.But this time around a wonderful soundrack has been placed for your ears.Most of the Character based soundtracks are Remix version of their original tracks from the earlier games. Their are new voice works .Sound Effects are also a thing to cherish.
Replay Value 9/10
Though due to lack of diversity in the endings,the Single Play would only entertain you to a given extent,but mark my words you would be bringing your friends to play this with you for century from now and would still want more.

The perfect 2d gaming experience.It is recommended like a 3D FF6.Definitely the Best King of Fighters title ever.
